LAReview
Take a historic piece of Hollywood real estate, add a long wooden bar and some leather booths, plop it on the Sunset Strip, and people are going to show up. Just look at Bar Next Door, a cocktail spot in the former home of Marilyn Monroe’s talent agency. This dark and moody bar sits on a quiet corner near the Beverly Hills border, and it's where you go to drink a $20 cocktail while taking in a scene. The whole place is an homage to Old Hollywood, and despite feeling a little put-on at times, the theme works. There are vintage posters lining the walls and a cocktail list split between classics like negronis and martinis, and flashier drinks named after nearby landmarks like Chateau Marmont and The Viper Room.
