NYCReview
Ella Funt is really going for it. Designed by an architect with projects in Beirut, Chengdu, and Milan, this casual East Village neo-bistro has a gilded bathroom, a copper-wrapped bar, and a collection of paintings from artists featured in MoMA’s permanent collection. And the food is just as interesting as the space. Try the light, citrusy steak tartare or the sweetbreads served with grilled lobster. We’d also suggest the uni burrata toast, but you’re probably going to order that no matter what we say. You absolutely should. Bring a date, and expect to spend around $100 per person on a meal that’ll remind you why you like to hang out in the East Village.
