A meal at Ursula in Bed-Stuy is the closest you can get to New Mexican food in New York, with chile peppers and other ingredients imported directly from the Land of Enchantment. The vibrant pink and turquoise cafe has a few tables in the front dining room, and a long bar in the back overlooking an open kitchen. We recommend grabbing a seat here so you can watch the chefs drop battered chicken into a dutch oven of hot oil before it goes into your green chile-smothered sandwich.

Ursula is open all day, and until 2pm, you can also get the hash brown-stuffed breakfast burritos that won the cafe a cult following at its previous location. At night, linger over cheffy small plates like snap peas with pecan salsa macha, and cocktails made with palo santo-infused rum, as you bask in an atmosphere that makes you feel like an extra in a prestige dramedy about a tiny restaurant in Brooklyn.
